SIDE GAMES AND EXTRAS

PUTTING CONTEST

A 4 hole putting course will be set up on the practice putting green adjacent to the Pointe Patio.  The format is pure alternate shot. The putting contest involves qualifying over Friday and Saturday to determine the 7 teams that will compete for the Putting Contest Championship. The entry fee is $10 per team per attempt. Teams may attempt to qualify as many times as they like.  You may only qualify with one partner at a time. Qualified means you are one of the seven lowest scores on the board. Once you are knocked out of a qualifying spot you can attempt to qualify with a different partner if you wish.

The seven teams with the lowest qualifying scores will compete in the putting finals on Saturday at 8:00pm. Should there be a tie for the seventh and final spot, all teams that are tied will compete in a “Putt-Off” for the final spot(s). In the tie-breaking “Putt-Off”, both team members will attempt one putt from a pre-determined spot to a pre-determined hole. The team(s) with the shortest combined distance away from the target hole will advance into the Finals. In the Putting Contest Finals, those seven qualifying teams will compete in the same alternate shot format as the qualifying. The team with the lowest total score will be the putting finals champions. Both qualifying partners must be present for the putting finals or the qualifying team will finish in last place money.

CALCUTTA SILENT AUCTION

The silent auction for the Calcutta will open at 3 pm. For those of you that are unfamiliar with the Calcutta, the way it works is simple. You have the opportunity to bet on, or essentially “buy”, any team you like (including your own). Betting is done in the form of a silent auction with bids starting at $40 and working up in increments of $40. The person with the highest bid amount for that team will “own” that team. All the monies collected from the Calcutta bids will be paid out to the “owners” of those teams that finished in the overall top 10 of the Final 9. It is imperative that you at least put a minimum bid on your team of $40 prior to the close of the silent auction if you want the opportunity to “Buy Back” half your team from whomever bought your team. Pigeon sheets and Flight lists will be available to all. We will also have an option to buy the “Field”. All the teams that did not receive any bids will be placed into a group called the “Field”. The person with the winning bid on the “Field” will own all the teams in this group. The silent auction will close at 8:15 pm. All bids must be paid in full via cash on Saturday morning prior to teeing off for Round 1. This can be done on the driving range.

Payouts for individuals “owning” the winning teams will be as follows:

Final 9 Winning Team      30% of purse

Final 9 Runner Up              25% of purse

Final 9 3rd Place                20% of purse

Final 9 4th & 5th                 7.5% of purse each

Final 9 6th—10th                2% of purse each

PARAMUTUEL BETTING

New for 2022. Individuals will be allowed to place bets on teams that have qualified for the Final 9 prior to the start of the Final 9. Bets can be placed on teams to “Win” (1st), “Place” (1st or 2nd) or “Show” (1st, 2nd, or 3rd). Payouts are determined by the number of bets placed on the individual team that finished in either 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Bets must be placed in increments of $5. The betting window will be open at 2:30 on Sunday and close at 3:30.
